We continue listen to Warpstock Europe 2013:
WSE2013 report
- Yes, the topics are the same, as in 2008 year.
On other side, you can see the changes, monitor the progress.
- Yes, less visitors. It's clear that Warpstock should change.

We all expect that the next confrence to attract more visitors,
more speakers. How to change Warpstock conference and make it successful,
make it "grow"?
Step 1: The conference starts in 12 monthes before D-Day.
The developers declare what they will make during the year.
And declare what presentations they will show.
The conference is not simple meeting of people,
this is the meeting of people which were working during the whole year
and preparing materials for the conference.
// The speakers don't describe something what exist and was created by
other people. They make work by themselves and then present the results
of own work.
Conclusion: the list of presentations should be available in advance,
in 6 monthes. So the visitors can prepare for the trip, prepare questions.
And the speakers have time to make efforts to complete the projects for D-Day.
Fix 2: It's very-very hard listen the presentations in the second part of day.
All people are tired, sleepy and go away too early.
How to fix this? It's necessary make other kind of meetings.
For example, workshops with the developers. No slides, alive chat only.
Everybody can make the questions and discuss the detailes.
Let's say, the workshops are organized in 2 rooms
and five developers sit there.

eCo Software started the promotion of the conference
several monthes ago:
WSE 2013 news.
We didn't received a "license" to continue promotion of the event.
As result, you don't see announcements of the conference during the last
few monthes.
What what the plan?
- We were going rotate banners related to Warpstock Europe
(similar to WSE2011 banners)
- Collect and exchange ideas, what topics to discuss,
what reports to present.
- Promote the conference at other IT sites (not OS/2 only)
Some facts
- It's clear that the conferences are very important,
and give impulse for work during the next 12 monthes
- It's clear that the conference needs advertisment,
people should prepare for the trip, make investments.
- eCo Software is participating in all WSE conferences,
we made many presentations and published many reports.

eComStation.RU is interested to support *new* eCS/OS/2 web-sites.
Are you going found new web-site related to eComStation and IBM OS/2 Warp?
We have collected some recommendations:
1) Always use pictures, logos and screenshots.
Major part of old OS/2 sites show text information only.
Today people need full-features sites: with good editorial text, with pictures
and videos. Conclusion: add picture to every article to attract the
visitor read the details.
2) Exchange links and banners with other eCS/OS/2 sites.
Support small sites, show links to this sites.
Support the developers of shareware software (the foundation of
eComStaion market), show banners with Ad of eCS software.
// The sellings of shareware for eCS don't increase because there is no exchange of commercial banners
3) What is your foundation? Do you have a "generator"?
If you build the site alone, without
foundation, copy&paste news from other sites then your site
doesn't attract the readers.
You should manufacture some unique products (applications, services or video product)
and use the web-site as add-on to your product, the channel of promotion.

4) Always allow comment the news and articles of your site
so the visitors have interest to return and read the replies posted by other users.
