3) Flash player 10: Flash 10 is working fully on eComStation (meaning the basic feature). There are still a few bugs left. Our developer is working hard on it. Right now certain flash features like text display on certain websites is displaying not properly. It will back available to people with an active eComStation software subscription.

eCo Software is obligated to fulfil the obligations and deliver improved shareware products. One of the methods - create additional modules and utilities to enforce main projects.

eCo Labs is a fund to attract new developers to eComStation. We are trying to share the income with standalone developers; stimulate the development of new PM-controls and libraries. Moreover, we are going update the portal for developers and enrich it with links and libraries.

eCo Software needs help, let's collect the information about ACPI.PSD support of your PC one more time. The goal - create the database for eCS installer, so ACPI may be configured automatically.

Yes, there are several databases with such information,
Yes, every user posted this information several times, but processing/sorting of this data will require huge efforts. (databases -> Tested hardware)

• ACPI Matrix -- users fill the information immediately after eCS installation. So this information is preliminary.
• The listings of motherboards and noetbooks on ecomstation.ru - the users describe the whole computer and don't write details about ACPI.
• Short list - short information
• bug-tracker - contains description of problems, not solutions.

Qt 4 application and UI framework for eCS, OS/2

Qt is a cross-platform application and UI framework. Using Qt, you can write applications once and deploy them across many desktop and embedded operating systems without rewriting the source code. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qt_toolkit)

A few years ago netlabs.org hired Dmitry A. Kuminov (aka dmik) to port version 3 of the toolkit to the eCS and OS/2 platform. This port is working well and made it possible to port many applications to our platform.

Some time ago Qt 4 got introduced and more and more applications are using this version of the toolkit by now. To make sure we can port those applications again, we have to invest some more work into the eCS and OS/2 port, as Qt 4 redid a lot of things from scratch. Dmitry offererd us to work on the port again, our goal would be to hire him for about 5 months, but we cannot do that ourself without help from the community.

We do have some money in the queue but it's not enough yet. If you would like to contribute to this port, you are welcome to buy a sponsoring unit for that at Mensys, 100% of that money will be transferred to netlabs.org.

Silvan Scherrer will coordinate the work for this port and Dmitry will do the programming.

Some applications that by now use Qt 4: VirtualBox, SMPlayer, Psi, Scribus, LyX and many more.

The future of netlabs.org

Keep in mind, Netlabs.org consists of two parts: a) Swiss company Netlabs.org and b) Netlabs lable used to mark free/non-commercial OS/2 and eComStation projects

• Netlabs.org company published own plans in the blog (something about mobile phones).
• Netlabs eComStation and OS/2 projects: Netlabs.org will continue to host eComStation and OS/2 projects, so all os/2-projects will continue to exist. Example: now collecting sponsor money to port Qt 4 toolkit to eComStation (it is planned to collect several thousand euro for development)

Mensys replied to sentences published in the plans (comments section), the development of eComStation continues: Flash player is under construction, AHCI drivers development is planned. The demand on eComStation is high (not in Europe only but USA).
