Netcraft is the server which observes web-servers status.
NetCraft was detecting web-servers with os/2 installed as Compaq True64 (ex-Digital Unix). Now, it detects os/2 servers properly. This will allow to count widespread of os/2 machines in the internet.

We would like to add a new page to the VOICE Newsletter to allow small Freeware and OS/2 user advertisements. This has been delayed a bit do to our involvement with Warpstock. Hopefully we can have something together for December. But we need your help.
This new page would allow developers of freeware apps to advertise their
products by having a free banner/text ad on this page. Also OS/2-eCS users
and OS/2 user groups could place text ads seeking other OS/2-eCS users in
their geographical area to start/promote a user group or maybe just find
someone to help them with a support problem or have coffee with. So let
us know if you think this is a good idea.
If you would like to place an advertisement send it to ads@os2voice.org.
If you would just like to comment, please send email to feedback@os2voice.org.
As with most everything at VOICE, these ads are free, supported by the members who have joined VOICE.
We have also revised our sponsorship levels to make it more affordable to sponsor VOICE, and have banner ads on some pages of the Newsletter for shareware and commercial OS/2 developers. You can view the status of that on our Sponsorship page - http://www.os2voice.org/sponsorinfo.html.

Looks like it's time to re-educate some more Linux users again.
There's an article on Slashdot (see link) that asks where all the "OS/2 junkies" have gone. You don't need an account to reply - just talk about how you're using OS/2 today. Don't forget to mention eComStation and the Convenience Packs.

The main topic for this meeting will be on VOICE Speakup events. Who should we invite next? What topics would people like to see covered? We'd like to hear your suggestions.
So please join us in the #voice channel on the WEBBnet IRC network. For more on VOICE meetings and IRC clients please see the VOICE Meeting Information page - http://www.os2voice.org/meetinginfo.html.

For those who might be interested in what the competition is up to. I attended the XP launch in D.C. yesterday. You can read my report and view some images at my page.
I didn't editorialize too much because some of my Windy loving friends have seen it as well, but you can draw your own conclusions. http://home1.gte.net/stefanj/winxplaunch.htm |

There are several OS/2 focused news groups reactivated on IBM's public news server recently.
News server is news.software.ibm.com
Groups:
- ibm.software.os2.lan
- ibm.software.os2.misc
- ibm.software.os2.rexx
- ibm.software.os2.warp
- ibm.networking.tcpip.os2
So before IBM decides to shut them down for lack of use (and lack of promotion) let's show IBM there are still some OS/2 users out there who appreciate information forums devoted to OS/2.
