If you have trouble with crystal soundchips with drivers from the manufactures like AOpen aw 320 soundcard for OS/2. Download the drivers for these cards and others here. These drivers are sometime better with addition features.
Moderator comments:
These are not new drivers on the Cirrus site (last updated in July 2000), but there has been a lot of discussion on some forums about audio drivers, so this tip may be of help to people having problems with getting these cards to work right under OS/2.

VIA is working on a new version of drivers
Some people have contacted me about this driver, asking what
the status was. Well VIA released a driver about 1 or 1/2 half
years ago. This driver worked in a few cases but was for the rest
a disaster (sorry if developers read this). For eComStation I'm
working on collecting drivers and getting a license to include them.
The VIA driver also has my attention and I have contacted VIA and past
along the bugs which where documented in the patch on hobbes. I also
had a lot of cases where there was no sound. Or system sounds where
played to fast. Also with playing a video file I got a trap. I past
al this information along. Last week I was told they where working
on a new version.
All I can say, lets hope it has improved and keep an eye on www.via.com.tw.
When it will be released I don't know.
BTW: Does somebody out there have a VIA motherboard with a BUILD ON nic
chipset from VIA. I have drivers that need testing.

IBM has beta drivers for the Adaptec AIC7870.ADD, AIC78U2.ADD and AICU160.ADD on their testcase site.
From the readme.txt "These are BETA TEST ONLY drivers to resolve issues
with long chkdsk and with geometry problems with Adaptec SCSI cards and
ZIP drives. Use at your own risk!"
ftp://testcase.boulder.ibm.com/ps/fromibm/os2/newadaptec.zip
As the readme states, use these at your own risk. Also be aware that
rarely does anything stay on IBM's testcase site for more then 2-3 days,
so if you think you want these get them now.
I have installed the beta AIC7870.ADD driver on a system with a builtin
7870 UW-SCSI controller and have had no problems in the past 3 hours. I
have done some very limited testing concerning the slow CHKDSK on boot
problem. Hopefully the followingt table is readable. Both partitions
tested are HPFS.

New version of SBLive driver released.
There's not much new in 0.75. Joystick support has been reactivated and some minor bugs were fixed.
It can be downloaded from http://www.xs4all.nl/~sandervl/sbliveos2.075.zip.
Sander van Leeuwen haven't tested it thorougly so if you find any new problems, let him know.

i send a mail to Sander, the author of the sb live driver for
os/2, and asked for dos support, which he promptly sayed NO! :P
i can't blame i'm since he doesn't have any time left.
since i'm no programmer, i would like to know if you guys are
interested in adding DOS support to the driver. i know the generic
winos/2 audio project promisses to add support some day,
but that's too vage and i need dos support because i use quickviewer
for dos to see opendivx movies (that warpmedia currently doesn't
support) and some other media formats and also
for mame:) since sb live drivers are open sourced, how hard can it be?
any reply would be greatly appreciated:)
