Happy new year!

2001-12-31 10:50:04 -- eComStation.Ru Team [www.ecomstation.ru]

Happy new year!

We sum up results of our work (during previous 4 monthes). What are the results? what are the plans for the next quarter?

Our general purpose is support users and developers. Every user activity must affect eCS future. Every application must get into the market. We are going to create pipeline of conversion ideas into real projects and products.

Our first step was creation of news services ('econews' news stripe and APeCS software catalogue). We provide support of news exchange between Russia and foreign users.

Being in the center of events we know how to activate development of eCS.

Today eComStation.Ru has:

  • 'econews' news service - all news about eCS and OS/2;
  • the site hosts APeCS ('AP'plications for 'eCS') software catalogue;
  • we collect articles and reference books for beginners and professionals;
  • our site hosts many projects;
  • forums allow to discuss hot problems.

What is the next step? Our purpose is more concrete now. Purposes of our site for the first quarter of 2002:

(А) Allow russian users to join eCS development:

  • Complete localization of eComStation for russian users;
  • Create places for work

(B) Supply users with information:

  • Translate eCS news to different languages.

(C) Propagation of eComStation in russian sector of internet

  • Fill e-magazines with articles related to eCS and eCS technologies;
  • Create more reference books, articles, tutorials with description of eCS;
  • Kill myths related to OS/2;
  • Fill APeCS software catalogue.

Do your plans concur with ours?

  • We are ready to publish your article/news in our site;
  • Our site is multilingual. You are able to increase your knowledge of foreign languages and translate texts.
  • Inform us if you have any suggestions and ideas how to expand our site (create additional forums, projects)
  • We will export news (in any language) to your site if your need such kind of support

Thanks to all our visitors!

Thanks to all translators who support our status of multilingual portal.

Good luck to Serenity-Systems company. The activity of this company affects to the future of OS/2 platform.

Good luck to IBM OS/2 division for the great operating system. Increase your activity too.

Thanks to our pets, parents who support us in our activity.

Happy New Year! Good luck in the next year! Your Health! :)

Articles needed

2001-12-27 12:08:16 -- Eugene Gorbunoff [VOICENWS]

If anyone has some time over the holidays and wants to do something to help the OS/2 community, a great way would be to write an article for the VOICE Newsletter or OS/2 eZine. You don't have to be a professional writer to do this. You just need a story to tell.

Do you have some new hardware or a new software application that you would like to let others know works under OS/2 or eComStation? A How-To article is easy to write, just keep a record of everything you did to get something working. Review articles can help generate interest in a particular piece of software or let people know what hardware works with OS/2.

For more on writing an article for VOICE please see our Submission Guidelines. We currently accept articles written in English or German. Please send any article ideas to editor.

For more on writing articles for OS/2 eZine please see The OS/2eZine Press Room. Please send any article ideas to editor
